Development of a modular measuring device for the measurement of moving objects

The modular measuring device can be used for the automatic measurement of profiles (semi-finished parts) and general cargo. The objects to be measured are transported through a measuring channel. The measuring channel can be arranged both horizontally and vertically. Depending on the requirement, up to six measuring systems cover the surface of the measuring object. The light-section segments are assembled to a closed surface contour, presented and analysed in relation to the desired dimensions. Using the measuring device, the following parameters can be determined depending on equipment components: 

      - Profile cross section (dimensions)
      - Diameter and ovality
      - Surface contour
      - Length

The measuring systems are rotatable and also allow the registration of complicated surface contours. By means of the corresponding protective devices, the device can also be used under difficult production conditions.

The measuring results are shown on a display graphically or in a tabular form. The tolerance variations are highlighted or marked in colour. The determined data are saved and can be exported via different interfaces.
